After classes were over, I went to downtown to see my friends. I met my friends that were in same class when we were in the second year in high school. We regularly gather to have dinner together. However, I have not seen them for a long time, because we were very busy recently. Today, we gathered to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Also it was a good-by party, because one of my friend move to Fukuoka next week. We went to ‘Blue Bright’ to eat dinner. We enjoyed eating and drinking. I let them know how I have been getting along on. Also they let me know how they have been getting along on. There are part-time workers, students and members of society. Each of us is in different environment, so I am interested in their life. I like them very much. We are going to hold a year-start party. I am looking forward it!

Saisyunkan

I did not have part-time job today, so I went to ‘Saisyunkan’ with my boyfriend to see illuminations. Saisyunkan is in Mashiki. It is near the airport line 1. I went to Saisyunkan for the first time, because I did not go there last year. I like illuminations very much. So I was looking forward to going there. Today was weekday, so it was not so crowded. There were a lot of beautiful illuminations for example big whale, swans, tunnel and so on. I was moved them very much. We took a lot of pictures. We enjoyed it very much. After that, we went to a restaurant to eat dinner. We had a nice time today.

I did not have my part time job today. So I was very happy. I usually have my part time job five or six times a week recently. I am very, very tired because of it. However, I could get away from the stress of it today. In the morning, I went to photo shop to have some copies of the photograph made. Next, I met my friend, Haruko, to make a photo album for my friend’s birthday. We went to ‘mister doughnut’. We made a photo album in there. I saw her after a long separation, so we talked about a lot of things. We made plans for our friend’s birthday party. After that, I went to ‘JUSCO’ to pick my boyfriend up on my way to the ‘Hikari no Mori’. I went to ‘Youme Town’ to buy a book and take an appointment in nail salon. I wanted to buy a book to write a report, but there was not the book that I wanted. So I sent up for the book. Then, I took an appointment in nail salon for the Coming of Age day. After finished my business, we went to karaoke. Both of us like EXILE. So we sang a lot of EXILE’s songs. We sang three hours, but I wanted to sing more. We enjoyed karaoke. After that, we ate dinner. We ate sushi and Korean barbecues beef. These were delicious. We became full. So we wanted to exercise and we went to ‘SPOLA’. We did billiards about an hour. We were very exciting. I like billiards very much. We can not meet the day of Christmas, because both of us have part time jobs. So I was glad to meet him today.

BR 2-04: Harry's Great Big Burp

I read ‘Harry’s Great Big Burp’. Polly Jack wrote it. I chose this book, because the illustration of the front cover of this book is very cute. I was interested in this book when I saw the illustration. It was about a boy who ate some prunes. It was a funny story. So I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main character of this story was Harry who lived with his mother. He had strong many likes and dislikes about food. He did not like fruits and vegetables, but his mother gave him fruits and vegetables. She thought that fruits and vegetables were very good for him. So he ate all of these fruits and vegetables. One day, his mother gave him some prunes. He did not like prunes, but he ate all of the prunes. After that, he got on the school bus to go to the school. Suddenly, his stomach made a funny noise. He had loose bowels. Then his mouth made a big burp. He was very embarrassed. When he was in the school library, his stomach made a funny noise again. Also his mouth made a big burp again. The books of the library fell down on the floor. He was surprised at the happening. After he got to his house, he thought that he would never eat prunes again.

I enjoyed reading this book, because it was a very interesting story. Harry did not like fruits and vegetables. I do not like vegetables either. So I can understand his feeling easily, but I like fruits. I have never eaten prunes. I want to try to eat them.

Reading Ⅰ

I attended speaking class today. We talked about reading newspapers, magazines and comic books. I talked with Yoshie about the theme. So I am going to write about the theme.

I read newspapers about once a week, because I have no time to read it. I take Kumanichi newspapers. I think it is good, because I can get a lot of information from the newspapers. I like the sports section best, because I like soccer. I read PINKY, because I like Emi Suzuki who is a model of the magazine. I buy it once a month, because it is a monthly magazine. I read NANA, because it is very interesting and popular. I buy about once every three months. I read Seven Teen when I was a junior high school student, because it was a famous magazine. May be, I have thirty comic books or so. I have ever read English newspapers. I usually go to the school library once a week, because I have to do my assignments. I only read TV timetable section of newspapers when I was a child. However, I liked reading books when I was a child. I read a lot of children’s stories.

Yoshie reads newspapers about once a week, because she is busy recently. She takes Kumanichi newspapers. She thinks it is good, because she can learn a lot of things by it. She likes TV timetable section best, because it is useful for her. She reads PINKY, because she likes the models of the magazine. She does not buy it recently, because she has no time to read magazines. She reads Bokuragaita and Sunadokei, because they are very interesting story. She does not buy it, because she read them before. She read Seven Teen before, because she liked the magazine. She has about fifteen books. She has ever read English newspapers. She usually goes to the school library everyday, because she studied in the school library. She did not read newspapers when she was a child.

BR 2-03: Rotten Apples

I read ‘Rotten Apples’. Roderick Hunt wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title ‘Rotten Apples’. It was about a horse that eats too many rotten apples. Now, I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main character of this story is Biff who is a kind girl. One day, she helped her mother’s job. Her job was to pick up the apples that feel down from the trees. She picked up a lot of apples, but some of the apples were rotten. So she put them in the box. When she was carrying the box, Kipper called to her. He said, “Come and see this!” There is Harry Smith who liked by everyone. He sold things with his horse. Biff gave an apple to the horse. The horse liked it. Then, the horse ate all of the rotten apples. After that, Biff and the other children rode the horse with Harry Smith. Suddenly, the horse began to run too fast. “Slow down!” shouted Harry Smith, but the horse did not listen his warning. The children were afraid of the happening. After a while, the horse stopped in a car park with he made funny noise. The horse went to sleep. Harry Smith thought that maybe the horse was drunk. Actually, the rotten apples made the horse drunk! However, Harry Smith did not mind. When the horse was sleeping, he sold everything from his cart. He was happy because of the happening. So he gave the children a present.

This is a very interesting story. I did not know that rotten apples made animals drunk. Is it truth? I do not know. I want to read interesting stories like this.

Learning with computers

I am going to talk about learning with computers. I think that learning with computers is good thing, because there are a lot of good points of it. Learning with computers is very convenience for me. Also many people probably think so too. Now, I am going to talk about the good points of learning with computers.

I can get a lot of information that I want easily when I use computers. Most of the computers have search function. So I can get many kinds of information through the Internet. It is very useful for me when I write reports and do assignments. I can acquire knowledge when I use computers.

We can do mail and chat through the Internet. These are very useful tools. We can communicate with other people easily when we use these tools. If we use Internet, we can communicate with people who live far from each other easily. It is very important to communicate with other people so computers are very useful.

There are a lot of useful tools in the computers. In the reading class, we do power words. Do you know it? It is a tool to learn vocabulary. We can learn a large vocabulary through the tool. We can enjoy learning vocabulary when we use the tool. Also we can challenge other tools.

Millions of computers worldwide connect to Internet. So we can connect with people who live all over the world. We can connect with people when we are in our house. Also we can send mails, photos, movies and so on through the Internet. We can connect with other people through the Internet easily.

Learning with computer is very convenient for me, because there are computers everywhere for example KGU, library, home and so on. We can use computers any time. We can get high quality information through the Internet. Learning with computers has many good points. So I want to use computers more often.

Maedori

I will come of age next year. We wear kimono and attend the coming of age ceremony in Coming of Age day. I took some photographs for the Coming of Age day. It is said ‘Maedori’ in Japanese. I got up early this morning. I went to a photo studio with my mother. First, I had my hair set and makeup at the dressing room for the photography. Next, I had dressing. This was a first time for me to wear kimono. It was very hard for me to wear kimono. My stomach was constricted by obi. After finishing photography, we went to my grandmother’s house to show my kimono. Also we paid our respect at a grave. After that, I took off my kimono at last. I could relax. I am looking forward to the coming of age ceremony, because I can meet a lot of my friends. The alumni meeting of junior high school is going to held when the Coming of Age day. I want to enjoy it.

Cars and other transportation

I attended speaking class today. We talked about the theme ‘CARS AND OTHER TRANSPORTAION’. I talked with Saori about the theme too. So I am going to talk about it.

I have a car license. I got the car license last year. I have ever driven the car. My family has a ‘wagon R’. The car is purple and square. I have moped. The moped is brown and cute figure. I do not like to go moped riding, because it is very, very cold when I ride my moped in the winter. I think I am not a careful driver, because I sometimes drive my family’s car too fast. I have never been in a traffic accident. I want to ‘Land Cruiser’, because it is very cool. I went to Kumamoto Driving School, because it was the nearest driving school from my house. I like driving car, because driving car is very interesting and cars are useful. I go to school by train, but sometimes I go to school by my moped. I have ever paid a fine because of speeding.

Saori has a car license. She got her car license last spring. She has ever driven a car. She has an ‘ek wagon’. The ek wagon is silver and square. She has a bicycle. Her bicycle is orange. She does not like to go bicycle riding, because she usually uses her car. She thinks that she is not a careful driver, because she drives her car too fast. She has ever been in a traffic accident. The car accident left a dent in her car door. She wants brown car next, because she thinks that brown is very cute color. She went to Kikuchi Driving School, because it was near from her house. She likes driving her car, because she drives her car everyday and cars are useful. She go to school by her own car. She has not ever paid a fine.

Reading books

I attended speaking class today. We talked about ‘Reading books’ in the class. There were some questions of the theme. I talked with Kana about it. Now, I am going to talk about it.

I like reading books, because I can pass my time by reading books. The last book that I read was Ryuseinokizuna. It was a mystery novel. Keigo Higashino wrote it. I read it about a month ago. I took about two days to read the book. I liked it, because it was interesting. It was about three brothers whose parents were killed when they were children. The best book that I have ever read was Tegami. Keigo Higashino wrote it too. I read it about a couple of years ago. It was about brothers. The older brother killed other person. I like mystery novel and romance novel, because I can enjoy reading. I usually read one or two books in a month, because I have no time to read books. However, I want to read more books. I usually read books in my house, because I can relax in my house. I go to the school library about twice a week or so, because I have a lot of assignments. I usually use personal computers when I go to the school library.

Kana does not like reading books, because she is always tired of reading books. The last book that she read was Aozora. It was a romance novel. Natsu Hoshino wrote it. She read it about a week ago. She took two hours to read it. She liked it, because she was moved it. It was about a girl who lost her precious person. The best book that she has ever read was Koizora. It was a romance novel too. Mika wrote it. She read it when she was a high school student. It was about a girl whose boyfriend got cancer. She likes romance novels and romance comics, because she likes these stories. She reads books once a year, because she does not like reading books. She usually reads books in the train, because she goes to school by train. She goes to the school library about once a week, but she does not read books there. She does her homework and studies when she goes to the school library.

After classes were over, I went to Hikari no Mori with my friends. We went to Rakeru to eat parfait. I ate chocolate parfait. It was a little big, so I had eaten sufficiently. My friends ate omelets containing fried rice and parfait. The omelet containing fried rice looks very delicious. I want to eat it when I go to Rakeru next time. After that, one of my friends went to driving school. I went to Joyful with another friend. We were in the same high school, and he is a KGU student now. However, I seldom see him in KGU, because we are in the different departments. Today, I met him after a long separation. We talked about various things, and we had a nice time.

A little known aspect of Kumamoto

I chose the Kusunoki Summer Festival for a little known aspect of Kumamoto. Do you know it? This is a local summer festival. Probably, people who live in near the Kusunoki area know the festival. However, I think that other people do not know it. So I am going to introduce it.

This is a local summer festival. It takes place in Kusunoki central park in August every year. A lot of people who live in near the Kusunoki area go to the festival. Kusunoki central park is near the Kusunoki junior high school. So a lot of the students go to the festival too.

In the festival, there are many kinds of performances for example, karaoke, the Bon dancing, performance by brass band and so on. Various people enjoy doing karaoke and dancing. I belonged to the brass band club when I was in the first year in junior high school. So we played several tunes in the summer festival. It became one of my important memories of my junior high school days.

One of the good points of this festival is that we can meet a lot of local friends. Each of us go to different schools and work for different places. We hardly meet daily life. So this summer festival is good chance for us to meet. We are all looking forward to the festival.

There are a lot of festivals in Kumamoto, but I think the Kusunoki Summer Festival is one of the good festivals of Kumamoto. The festival is not so popular. However, there are a lot of interesting events. You will be able to enjoy it. If you have never gone to the festival, I would like you to go to the festival.

Fukuoka②

I did shopping with my friend in Fukuoka today. I like shopping, so I was looking forward to today. We got up early this morning and we went to ‘Tenjin CORE’ and ‘Soraria Plaza’. Both of us are indecisive people, so we wavered what to buy. There are a lot of shops in Tenjin. So we were enjoy shopping very much. I bought black coat, gray short pants, necklace, black pumps and salmon pink long T-shirt. I was satisfied with them. My friend bought a lot of clothes too. She bought coat, parka, long T-shirt, and so on.After we finished shopping, we went to Kego Park. We could see illuminations. These were very, very beautiful. I like illuminations very much. We can see the illuminations until Christmas. If you have chance to go to Fukuoka, please see them. We had a very nice time today.

Fukuoka①

Today, I went to Fukuoka to go to the EXILE's live concert with my friend. We met at Musashizuka bus stop at 1 p.m. We waited for a bus to go to Fukuoka, but there are too many people. We could not ride in a bus easily, so we waited for about an hour. We went to Fukuoka airport first, then we changed from a bus to a subway. We arrieved at YAHOO DOME at 4:30 p.m. I went to YAHOO DOME for the first time. It was very big and there are a lot of people. I was looking forward to the live concert, because I like EXILE very much. This is the first time for me to go to the EXILE's live concert. I can usually watched them only on TV, but I could I enjoyed the live concert and I was so happy. I really want to go to the live concert next year too. After that, we wemt to a hotel but the hotel was very far from the YAHOO DOME. We took a lot of time to go to the hotel. We were very tired when we arrived at the hotel. So we went to bed as soon as possible. We had a very nice time today. We are going to go shopping tomorrow. I am looking forward to do shopping tomorrow.

BR 2-02: Lost Love

I read ‘Lost Love’. Jan Carew wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the book’s title ‘Lost Love’. There are five stories in this book. These stories titles are Lost Love, The Doll, The Other Man, The Charm and Journey’s End. These are all different stories, but something strange happens in each stories. I am going to introduce the story of ‘Lost Love’ roughly.

I thought that this is a love story when I saw the story’s title Lost Love. However, this is not a normal love story. The main character of this story is a woman. One day, she was lost in the country with her car. Unfortunately, her car stopped because of a lack of petrol. Then, a girl came. She thought the girl was very pretty. So she spoke to her. She explained about her circumstance. The girl invited her to the country. So she went to the country with the girl. She thought something strange when she arrived at the country. She went to the girl’s house. There were the girl’s father, mother. They were very kind people. So she liked them very much. She had a nice time that day. In that night, the girl said “We have to say goodbye tonight. You have to go now.” She did not want to go, because she liked the girl very much and she could not understand why she had to go now. However she decided to go now. After that, she knew the fact. The girl that she met was a ghost, but she liked the girl very much. So she wanted to meet the girl again. After ten years past, she went to the country again.

I enjoyed reading this book. The stories were all interesting and strange. I want to read romance novel next.

I chose the Kusunoki Summer Festival for next essay’s topic. This is a local summer festival. It held in August in Kusunoki central park every year. The park is near the Kusunoki junior high school. So many students of Kusunoki junior high school go to the festival. Also people who live in near the park go to the festival too. There are a lot of stands for example shaved ices with syrup on the top, grilled chickens, cotton candies miso soup and so on. In the festival, there are a lot of performances for example karaoke, performance by brass band and so on. I went to the festival every year when I was a junior high school student. I was looking forward it very much then.
