BR 2-10: Quiz Night

I read ‘Quiz Night’. Rob Waring and Maurice Jamall wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title of this book. It was about a man who took part in Quiz Night. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main characters of this story were John and Ji-Sung. One day, John, Ji-Sung and Daniela talked about Quiz Night. They were interested in it. A winner of Quiz Night can get some pizza tickets. John said, “I love pazza!” Then Ji-Sung decided to take part in Quiz Night. He was a very smart parson, so John and Daniela thought that he may be win. Ji-Sung invited John to take part in Quiz Night together, but he was one of the questioners of Quiz Night. So he could not. When they were talking about Quiz Night, a girl was watching them. Her name was Gemma. She was going to take part in Quiz Night too. The next day, John and Mr. Becker were making some questions for Quiz Night in the library. Then Gemma came to them and she tried to look at the questions. She asked Mr. Becker, “What are you doing?” Then Mr. Becker hid the questions under his book. He said, “We are making questions for the Quiz Night. Please don’t look.” Then she left them. After that, she suddenly asked John, “John, do you want some money?” She wanted to know the questions of Quiz Night, so she tried to buy the Questions from John. John was very surprised and angry with Gemma. He did not like her. He never wanted to talk with her. Saturday was Quiz Night. Six people took part in the Quiz Night and they all wanted to win. Then, Quiz Night just started. John got the first ball and questioned to Yoon-Hee who was Ji-Sung’s sister. However, she could not answer, so she was out. Next girl could not answer nether and she was out. Mr. Becker asked Gemma the next question, “Gemma, what’s the name of the tall tower in Paris?” “It’s the Eiffel Tower,” she said. Mr. Becker said, “That’s right!” Next question was for Ji-Sung, and he could answer the question. Next boy could not answer the question and he was out. Gemma and Ji-Sung were very good. They got all their questions right. Then, John talked to everyone, “Well, there are only two people, Gemma and Ji-Sung. Who will win? We’ll now listen to some music. We’ll start the questions again in ten minutes.” Gemma and Ji-Sung went to their friends. John did not like Gemma, so he wanted Ji-Sung to win. He said, “Ji-Sung, what’s the capital of Thailand?” “It’s Bangkok,” Ji-Sung answered. It was the next question. When Ji-Sung knew about it, he was very angry with John and he said, “I can’t win now!” They went back to stage. Gemma could answer the next question. However, Ji-Sung said wrong answer. John was very surprised, because Ji-Sung knew the answer. As a result of it, Gemma won some pizza tickets. Ji-Sung went back to his friends. There were Mark, Daniela and so on. They comforted Ji-Sung. He was very angry with John and he said, “I can’t win everything! What do you think, John?” John put his head down and everyone looked at him. His face was very red. “Let’s all go and get some pizza,” said Daniela. However, John said, “Umm…, I’m not coming.” They were surprised, because John liked pizza. Ji-Sung was until angry with John.

This story was very interesting, but John looked little poor. John wanted to help Ji-Sung, but it was none of his business.

BR 2-09: The Christmas Disco

I read ‘The Christmas Disco’. Jeremy Strong wrote it and Tom Clayton illustrated it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title of this story. It was about children whose school held a Christmas party. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main characters of this story were the students of Story Street School. They were all excited because it was almost Christmas. They and their teachers decorated play room with shining tinsels. They were going to hold a Christmas disco party at the Christmas night. They competed that who was the best dancer. They were looking forward to it. At last the night of the disco came. However, suddenly the play room went dark. They were confused about it. Then, a good idea came to Ben’s father. Their parents brought a lot of torches from their house. The torches were enough to bright the play room. The children enjoyed the disco party very much.

I enjoyed reading this book. This story was very interesting for me. My elementary school, junior high school and high school did not hold a disco party at Christmas day. So it looks very exciting.

Writing Ⅳ

I learned a lot of things in Writing IV. I learned blogging, writing, typing and so on. I think my computer skill became better than before. Also, I got some knowledge of computer and writing. However, my writing ability is not enough. So I am going to write about them.

First, I think my typing speed became more faster than last year, because of blogging. I had to write blog five to seven posts every week. It was very hard for me. However, I got used to blogging recently. Second, I learned how to write essays in Writing IV. I wrote some essays in Writing IV for example, movie review, book review and so on. So I knew form of essays. Third, I made my own blog. I learned how to write blog, how to attach media and so on.

I am uncertain of my ability of writing. I want teachers to check my essays. If I made mistakes, I wanted you to correct my mistakes. Also my vocabulary is not enough. So I try to enrich my vocabulary. Also I try to write English sentence from now on.

I was not good at using computer before. However, now, I like computers and writing blog because of Writing IV. Also I could know my weakness. I try to overcome my weakness. I want to learn writing harder to improve my English ability. I do my best from now on.

I have three finals today. So I had to study very hard yesterday. I did not have my part-time job yesterday, so I went to Joyful with my boyfriend to study there. We could concentrate on study. We studied about five hours. I was very tired. However, I could do my best on today’s three finals.

In the last speaking class, I talked about finals and reports with my classmates. So I am going to write about them. I have 14 finals. I think my easiest final will be writing Ⅳ, because I only write essay in the last class. I think my most difficult final will be theory of international organization. It will be open-book test, but it will be very difficult. I have one report. I have to write the report by January 27. It is about Christianity. I have not finished it yet. I have not started writing yet. I have not started researching yet. I will use Internet for my report. I like finals better than reports, because I hate writing reports. I have started studying already. I started studying a week before. I studied four hours yesterday. I talked about the theme with Nozomi in the class. She has 11 finals. She thinks writing Ⅳ will be easiest final too, because she just write essay in the final. She thinks theory of environment will be her most difficult final, because it will be closed-book test. She has two reports. She has not finished yet. She has not started writing yet. She has not started researching yet. She is going to use Internet for her reports. She likes finals better than reports, because she does not like writing reports. She has already started studying for finals. She started studying from last Sunday. She studied three hours yesterday, because she had to do her homework. She had to read English book and wrote report.

Coming of Age Day

I took part in Coming of Age ceremony. I got up at five a.m. Then I went to beauty salon to wear my hair up, makeup and kimono. I was very sleepy, because I drank with my friends last night. I was regretted of it. I arrived at the meeting place around ten a.m. I met a lot of friends. They all wore kimono. They looked very beautiful and mature. I took a lot of pictures with them. I had a nice time there. After that, I went to downtown with my friends. We were very hungry, so we ate lunch at a fashionable restaurant. At night, I took part in alumni meeting of junior high school. It held at Mitsui Garden Hotel. I saw my friends in junior high school days after a long separation. We enjoyed eating, drinking and talking. The alumni meeting were very interesting for me. I had a very good time today, but I was very tired.

I had an interview test in the speaking class. So I practiced speaking and thought answers for it.

I am Saori Nitta. I live in Kumamoto, but I lived in Hokkaido when I was an elementary school student. I graduated from kusunoki junior high school and kumamoto kita high school. I am in Kumamoto Gakuen University. My major is English. I have a part-time job at a cake shop.
2.What are your greatest strengths?
I am good at listening, so I like to guide my friends. Also I can keep smile, if I am in bad condition and I can keep promise.

I am an indecisive and shy person. Also I am not good at getting up early, so I am careful to go to bed early.
4.Why do you want to leave your present position?
I learned English, and the other subject in KGU. Also I got some qualifications. So I want to put my knowledge of them to job.
5.Why should I hire you?
If you hire me, I am sure that I do my best for the company.
6.Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I will work in this company, and I will get some qualifications.
7.Describe your ideal company, location and job.
My ideal company is not so big with homey atmosphere. I want to work near my house. My ideal job is service occupation that I can use my English skills.
8.Why do you want to work at our company?
Because I have a part-time job at a cake shop, so I like service and I have experience in it.
9. Why don’t you have a job now?
Because I am learning many things in my university. I want to get knowledge and skills before I get a job.
10. What good books have you read lately?
I read ‘Ryuseinokuzuna’. Keigo Higashino wrote it. I like his novels. It was a mystery novel. I was moved it.
11.Tell me about a situation when your work was criticized.
First, I reflect that my bad points. Next, I think how to improve it. I am careful that I do not make the same mistake again.
12.What are your outside interests?
I like to watch movie, watch sports and hang out with my friends.
13.How do you feel about reporting to a younger person or a woman?
I do not mind, because I work with younger people and women in my part-time job.
14.Whould you lie for the company?
It is a difficult question, but may be, I do not lie for the company, because I think it is bad to lay whatever situation.
15.Can you work under pressure?
Yes, because I can accomplish my job if there are many things to do.
16.What makes you angry?
I do not like a person who does not keep promise, and selfish.
17.What was the toughest decision you ever had to make?
My toughest decision was which university I entered, because there were some choices.
18.Tell me about the most boring job you ever had.
My most boring job was to sort post cards in post office, but I tried to do it faster.
19.I’m concerned that you don’t have as much experience as we’d like in English.
I think my English experience is not enough, but I am going to study English through work.

winter vacation

I am going to write about my winter vacation. I took winter vacation about two weeks. I did not have all classes while the winter vacation, so I was very happy. However, I was very busy because of my part-time job. I have a part-time job at a cake shop. Cake shops are very, very busy while Christmas season. Of course, I could not take off. I had to work hard. In December 23 and 24, I worked about 13 hours a day. I kept standing while my part-time job. I was very tired, but I like to service for customers. I felt a sense of achievement after my part-time job finished. By the way, I hung out with my friends when I had no part-time job. One day, I went to hotel Nikko to eat lunch with my best friends. We ate Chinese food for example, fukahire, ebichiri, Chinese fried rice and so on. These were all delicious. We enjoyed eating and talking. Also I hung out with other my friends and went to many places. I was busy in this winter vacation, because I had a lot of things to do that I wanted. However, I felt a sense of fulfillment in the winter vacation. I really enjoyed this winter vacation!

BR 2-08: The Go-kart Race

I read ‘The Go-kart Race’. Roderick Hunt wrote it. I chose this book, because pictures of this book were very cute. It was about two girls that wanted to take part in the go-kart race. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main characters of this story were Wilma and Biff. They wanted to take part in the go-kart race. Then, Wilma had a good idea. They made their original go-kart, and they took part in the go-kart race. Their go-kart’s name was Silver Bullet. In the race, their go-kart did not win, the go-kart took the third place. However, Silver Bullet won a prize. It was the best-looking go-kart. They were very happy because of the prize.

I enjoyed reading this book, because it was an interesting story. I liked the go-karts when I was a child too. I sometimes rode the go-karts in the theme park.

I read ‘Mum to the Rescue’. Roderick Hunt wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title of this book. It was about a family that went to picnic. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main character of this story was a mother of the family. There were four people in the family, father, mother and two brothers. One day, they went to a car boot sale. Mother found a dinghy and she was interested in it. They decided to buy the dinghy. After they went back home, father pumped it up and the children helped their father. They went to river, but the weir was dangerous. So they went to other good spot. They enjoyed picnic there. Then, a woman’s boat was drifted. Mother helped the woman. The woman borrowed the boat for the family as a token of her gratitude.

It was a interesting story. So I enjoyed reading this book. I used to go picnic with my family when I was a child. I remembered it when I read this book.

I read ‘The Bully’. Roderick Hunt wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title. It was about a new girl who came to school. She was bully, so everyone did not like her at first. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main character of this story was Rosie. She changed her school and she was in Biff and Chip’s class. At first, she was not friendly and bully, so everyone did not like her. However, Chip and other friends went to adventure with Rosie with his magic key. After that, they became good friends, because Rosie apologized to her friends. Now, she was not a bully girl. However, A new boy came to school. He was in Biff and Chip’s class too. Also he was bully. Biff and the other classmates were in trouble about him.

I enjoyed reading this book. I like this ‘magic key’ series, because they are all interesting stories. I want to read other ‘magic key’ stories.

I read ‘Don’t Be Silly’. Roderick Hunt wrote it. I chose this book, because I was interested in the title ‘Don’t Be Silly’. This story was about children who played a joke. I am going to introduce this story roughly.

The main characters of this story were some children. They were Anneena, Nadim, Biff, Wilf and so on. One day, Nadim bought a plastic snake and he brought it to school. He showed it everyone. Then, Anneena fell on an idea. She wanted to deceive Mrs. May who was their teacher. However, their plans fell through. Mrs. May was not deceived. After that, some animals were in the play ground.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a funny story. There were a lot of children in this story, so it was difficult for me to memorize their names. Also there were some animals in this story, so I enjoyed reading this story.

Winter Vacation was finished today. How fast the time passes during winter vacation! I had my part-time job, and a lot of things to do. So I was very, very busy. Saisyunkan

I did not have part-time job today, so I went to ‘Saisyunkan’ with my boyfriend to see illuminations. Saisyunkan is in Mashiki. It is near the airport line 1. I went to Saisyunkan for the first time, because I did not go there last year. I like illuminations very much. So I was looking forward to going there. Today was weekday, so it was not so crowded. There were a lot of beautiful illuminations for example big whale, swans, tunnel and so on. I was moved them very much. We took a lot of pictures. We enjoyed it very much. After that, we went to a restaurant to eat dinner. We had a nice time today.
